The Syrian Interim Government’s Minister of Defense, Major General Salim Idris, conducted a field tour to positions and formations of the Syrian National Army and the Military Police Corps where he met with officers and commanders as part of SIG’s efforts to maintain security and strengthen stability in the liberated areas and build a professional army.
Members of the Syrian National Coalition, Ahmad Shehadi and Najib Rahmoun met with the Director of the Military Police Corps at the headquarters of the Military Police.
Participants in the meetings stressed the importance of all institutions combining their efforts for the success of SIG’s plan of action which gives priority to the maintenance of security and the building of a professional army in accordance with international standards.
For his part, Idris stressed the need to incorporate all the military formations deployed in the liberated areas into the Syrian National Army and restructuring it according to the new formation.
Idris also called for addressing the security issues in order to prevent any security breach or bombings in civilian areas. (Source: Syrian National Coalition’s Media Department)
