The Minister of Health in the Syrian Interim Government, Maram Al-Sheikh, said that the town of Al-Bab in rural Aleppo is now a hotbed of coronavirus following a surge in infections. He said that healthcare system can no longer cope with the rising infections.
Al-Sheikh said that Ministry of Health has so far recorded more than 460 cases of infection, adding that we need to step up efforts to overcome this crisis.
He pointed to severe shortages in curative medicines, masks and sterilization equipment.
He appealed to health organizations, the World Health Organization, and donors to help meet the urgent needs, calling on citizens to abide by precautionary measures to prevent further spread of the virus. (Source: SOC’s Media Department)
