The Syrian Opposition Coalition (SOC) strongly condemned the heinous act of war crimes and crimes against humanity perpetrated by the Israeli occupation forces. In a direct attack, they bombed the Baptist Hospital in the Gaza Strip on Tuesday, resulting in the tragic loss of hundreds of innocent lives. Simultaneously, they continue their relentless assaults on civilian neighborhoods throughout the Gaza Strip.
In a press release issued on Tuesday, the SOC emphasizes that the bombing of the Baptist Hospital constitutes a clear violation of international law and international humanitarian law, categorically constituting war crimes and crimes against humanity.
The SOC voiced deep concern over the ongoing silence of the international community in the face of the horrifying atrocities unfolding in the Gaza Strip. The situation can only be described as genocidal acts committed against the Palestinian people at the hands of the Israeli occupation forces.
The SOC urgently called upon the international community and the United Nations Security Council to convene an emergency session aimed at crafting and implementing decisive measures to halt these atrocities and ensure the immediate protection of civilians.
It also appealed to international organizations to exert all available pressure to put an end to the continued aggression against the Palestinian people and to uphold international laws and humanitarian principles. Furthermore, the SOC steadfastly opposes the Israeli occupation’s endeavors to forcibly displace the residents of the Gaza Strip.
