The Syrian Opposition Coalition (SOC) held a celebration on the occasion of the tenth anniversary of the Syrian revolution and the Nowruz Day in Afrin in partnership with the Association of Independent Syrian Kurds.
SOC’s President Nasr Al-Hariri delivered a speech lauding the role of the Kurds in the Syrian revolution and their commitment to the unity of the Syrian people and Syria’s territorial integrity. He stressed the importance of cohesion and unity to continue down the road of the revolution and achieve the aspirations of the Syrian people for freedom, dignity and democracy.
Al-Hariri also stressed that Nowruz Day is an occasion of festivity for all Syrians, pointing out that the SOC issued a decision to set the Nowruz Day as an official holiday across the liberated areas.
Al-Hariri called on the people of the Afrin region to return to their homes and lands, indicating that efforts are underway to address the mistakes and restore rights to their rightful owners.
The Association called on the SOC to open an office in the Afrin region as it commended the enormous sacrifices that the people of the region, including Kurds, Arabs and Turks are making. (Source: SOC’s Media Department)
