Abdullah Kaddo, a member of the political committee in the Syrian Opposition Coalition (SOC), has expressed appreciation for the prompt response of the military police in apprehending suspects involved in the assault and robbery of a family in the village of Mamli, located in the Afrin countryside of northwestern rural Aleppo.
Highlighting the SOC’s ongoing efforts, Kaddo emphasized the top priority placed on ensuring the security and safety of civilians across all liberated areas. The SOC, in collaboration with the Syrian Interim Government, is actively working to hold accountable those responsible for violations against civilians. This commitment includes subjecting offenders to legal scrutiny through a fair, just, and independent judiciary, thereby reinforcing and ensuring its independence.
A recent statement from the military police confirmed the successful arrest of the suspects involved in the theft case in Afrin’s countryside. The operation, carried out in cooperation with members of the Syrian National Army, identified the culprits as two armed young men.
Providing details of the incident, the police stated that the thieves forcibly entered a family’s residence on January 5. They assaulted and beat the occupants, making off with a sum of money, gold jewelry, and a mobile phone. The arrested individuals have been transferred to the competent judiciary for further legal proceedings.
