The Syrian Opposition Coalition (SOC) unequivocally denounced the ongoing violations committed by the Israeli occupation forces against our Palestinian brethren, including the latest intrusion into the revered Al-Aqsa Mosque and the brutal attacks on worshippers inside. It said that these grave transgressions are a blatant provocation to millions of Muslims worldwide and a violation of international norms and conventions.
In a press release issued on Wednesday, the SOC said that the frequent violation of religious sanctities by the occupying forces in Palestine undermines efforts towards peace, flouts international principles and norms, and only leads to further violence.
“It is the responsibility of the international community to take decisive action to safeguard the rights of the Palestinian people and put an end to the ongoing violence,” the SOC added.
The SOC stressed that all acts of violence, oppression, and criminality will never bestow legitimacy upon the occupation. The SOC offered its unwavering support to the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, including the end of occupation and the establishment of an independent State of Palestine, with Jerusalem as its capital.
