The Syrian Opposition Coalition (SOC) strongly condemned the recent attack on the embassy of the sister State of Qatar in the Sudanese capital, Khartoum. It said that this act of aggression by militants is a blatant violation of international norms and laws that are meant to ensure the sanctity and protection of diplomats, as well as the headquarters and property of diplomatic missions.
In a press release issued on Monday, the SOC said that the sisterly State of Qatar has consistently demonstrated honorable stances, standing firmly for what is right. “Qatar has been a sponsor and advocate for regional and global peace, and we vehemently reject any aggression against its sovereignty and property.”
The SOC added: “In light of this attack, we express our unwavering solidarity with the sisterly State of Qatar. We call upon all conflicting parties in Sudan to honor the truce and work towards a just and peaceful resolution. It is imperative to spare the brotherly Sudanese people from the dire consequences of war and violence.”
