The Syrian Opposition Coalition (SOC) expressed its full support for the popular uprising against the Iranian mullahs’ regime which rules over the Iranian people by injustice, oppression and sectarianism. It called on the countries of the region and the international community to support the uprising and the demands of the Iranian people to overthrow the mullahs’ regime and bring about a democratic transition in the country.
“Indeed, toppling the mullahs’ regime in Iran has become an urgent necessity for the region, especially for the Iranian people who are suffering successive living, economic and internal crises,” the SOC said in a press release issued on Monday.
The SOC stressed that the “the mullahs’ regime has depleted the country’s resources in its unjust sectarian battles against the peoples of the Arab region. It also supports and recruits terrorist militias to serve its goals and committed thousands of massacres in Syria, Yemen and Iraq, with the aim of empowering its arms in the region.”
The SOC condemned the Iranian regime’s brutal crackdown on the popular uprising in Iran and its attempts to silence the voices of freedom. It said that these practices are “identical to the practices of the Assad regime against the Syrian people over the past 11 years. The Iranian regime has aided and abetted the Assad regime’s war on the Syrian people and is mainly responsible for the tragedy and suffering of the two peoples.”
