The Syrian opposition Coalition (SOC) denounced the Hamas movement’s intention to restore relations with the criminal Assad regime. It stressed that if this comes true, it will represent an utter disregard for the lives of Syrians and Palestinians who were killed by this regime and its allies over the previous years.
In a press release issued on Thursday, the SOC stressed that this decision by the Hamas movement does not represent the true position of the brotherly Palestinian people who have long expressed their support for the Syrian people, nor does it represent the just cause of the Palestinian people that they are still fighting for.
“If the Hamas movement restores relations with the Assad regime, it will lose the nation’s sympathy, nor will it win the Assad regime which have a deep hatred for Palestinians. This grudge was manifested throughout the revolution, namely by the killings, displacement, arrests and massacres, the latest of which was Al-Tadamnon Massacre.”
The SOC also stressed that Hamas will not be able to serve the Palestinian cause if it sides with the axis of sabotage, murder, rape and torture to death. The mullahs’ terrorist regime and the criminal Assad regime can only offer murder, displacement, sedition and illicit drugs.
The SOC called upon Hamas members and leaders not to distort the history of the struggle for freedom and independence by siding with a criminal regime. Hamas should not prioritize its short-lived interests over the values of free conscience, ethics, which the Assad regime knows nothing about, nor over the interests of Palestine and its cause, which is the nation’s cause and cannot be adopted by a single people, movement or group.
