The Syrian Opposition Coalition (SOC) condemned the airstrikes that were carried out by the Russian occupation planes on the town of Al-Bab in northern rural Aleppo on Wednesday, stressing that Russia will bear full responsibility for the grave consequences that may arise.
In a press release issued on Thursday, the SOC said that these airstrikes “represents a serious violation and a dangerous escalation threatening the existing agreements and understandings that have helped maintain relative calm in the region in recent months.”
The airstrikes killed a child and wounded others, including women and children, and caused widespread damage near the city center.
“It is a new crime that is added to Assad regime and Russia’s endless litany of the most horrible crimes,” the SOC said.
Russian jets on Wednesday carried out two airstrikes on central Al-Bab town. According to activists, the first airstrike hit Al-Salam Hospital, while the second hit a center for the distribution of propane gas cylinders, causing a residential building to fall, injuring many civilians, and causing huge fires in the place.
