The Syrian Opposition Coalition (SOC) extended its warmest congratulations to the Syrian people and the Kurdish community in particular on the occasion of Nowruz, a festival of great cultural and social significance to them and to all who celebrate it.
In a press release issued on Tuesday, the SOC said: “As we celebrate Nowruz, we remain hopeful in consolidating the values of freedom and justice and completing the path of the revolution to reach its lofty goals. We call on all Syrians to work together and cooperate in building a state based on justice, equality, and respect for human rights under a Syrian national identity that is proud of its national, cultural, and religious diversity.”
The SOC stressed that the demands of the Syrian people during their great revolution align with the meanings of Nowruz in resisting injustice and upholding the values of freedom and peace. It also said it recognizes that celebrating this festival is a legitimate right for the Kurdish people in all parts of our beloved country Syria.
