The Syrian Opposition Coalition (SOC) congratulated the Syrian people and the Arab and Islamic nations on the advent of the holy month of Ramadan, the month of patience, determination and giving, hoping that it will be a month of blessings and victory.
In a press release issued on Saturday, the SOC said: “Throughout Islamic history and the history of the Syrian Revolution, the month of Ramadan has always been the month of victories and accomplishments. In this month, Syrians need to show more diligence in worship as well as in the field of good work in its general sense, most importantly continuing the efforts to overthrow the criminal regime and rid Syria of its tyranny and terrorism.”
“We remind every Syrian in Syria and abroad that Ramadan is the month of generosity, sacrifice, and giving in the way of Allah. Charity begins at home, especially for our people in the IDP camps and in northern Syria, as well as for our people who live in the regime-held areas,” the SOC added.
The SOC went on: “We have a duty to cater for the families of the deceased and detainees, not least to provide them with sufficient aid and preserve their dignity.”
The SOC said that “hundreds of thousands of Syrian households will sit at the breakfast tables with broken hearts: for a lost son, a detained brother, or an orphaned child due to the Assad regime’s crimes against the Syrian people.”
“We congratulate our great, patient Syrian people for their unwavering commitment to their principles and their just demands for freedom and justice as well as for building a new Syria in which Assad and his regime have no place.”
