A delegation from the Syrian Opposition Coalition (SOC), led by Secretary-General Haytham Rahmeh, held a meeting with the Association of Independent Kurds in Afrin, a town in northwestern rural Aleppo. The meeting was attended by Nazir al-Hakim, a member of the political committee, Najib Rahmon, the SOC’s coordinator in the liberated areas, and Azad Othman, the representative of the Association of Independent Kurds in the SOC, along with Manan Habib, Amjad al-Maleh, Adham Salman, and Adnan Hassan, all members of the Association.
During the meeting, the attendees discussed the conditions in Afrin and the surrounding villages, including the aftermath of the recent earthquake and its impact on the Maidanki Dam. They also explored the next steps, with a focus on providing shelter to those who lost their homes and addressing their basic needs.
The participants expressed their disappointment at the lack of international support for northwestern Syria. They thanked the Syrian Civil Defense, the Syrian National Army, and all the civilians who demonstrated patriotism and humanity by swiftly responding to the rescue operation.
