A delegation led by Salem Al-Meslet, representing the Syrian Opposition Coalition (SOC), recently conducted a visit to Free Aleppo University situated in Azaz, a town in the Aleppo countryside. During this visit, the delegation held discussions with Dr. Abdul Aziz Al-Dughaim, the university’s president, and engaged with the educational and administrative personnel. The focal point of the dialogue revolved around the prevailing state of education in the region.
Joining President Al-Meslet were SOC members Ahmed Tomeh, Ayman Al-Asimi, and Najib Rahmuon.
Conversations between the parties gravitated towards the significance of establishing a new branch of the university in Tal Abyad, a town in the Raqqa countryside. The objective behind this initiative is to accommodate students from that area. Various approaches and potential strategies were explored for the seamless execution of this project, alongside the identification of facilities that could expedite its implementation.
The exchange further extended to addressing the array of challenges that impact the educational landscape in northern Syria, with a particular emphasis on the context of Free Aleppo University. Matters spanning administrative intricacies, teaching methodologies, and academic considerations were thoroughly discussed.
Additionally, the successful conclusion of the third round of university examinations was touched upon. Remarkably, approximately 4,000 students participated in these examinations.
