A delegation from the Syrian Opposition Coalition (SOC) recently visited the local council in the town of Tal Abyad, located in rural al-Raqqa, to assess the progress of their work and evaluate the living conditions and services provided in the town.
The delegation was headed by SOC’s Vice President, Abdulahad Astepho, and included a member of the political committee, Abdel Basset Abdel-Latif, along with SOC members Hussein Al-Raad, Mohamed Al-Hamdo, and the assistant minister of local administration, Saad Shaweish.
The delegation also visited the military police, the military court, and the civil court in the town. During their tour, they discussed a variety of important issues, including agriculture, health, and education. The local council emphasized the importance of marketing agricultural crops such as grain and cotton, as well as opening a medical center and branches of the Free Aleppo University.
Astepho stressed that the delegation would discuss the needs and challenges identified during the visit with the executive institutions of the SOC. They would then evaluate them and work to implement possible solutions to improve the living conditions and services in the region.
He also emphasized the need for coordinated efforts, cooperation, and communication among all political, civil, and military institutions of the Syrian revolution to face upcoming challenges. The delegation reaffirmed the SOC’s commitment to meeting the demands of the Syrian people and implementing all UN resolutions on Syria, including the Geneva Communique of 2012 and UN Resolutions 2118 and 2254, in order to achieve a genuine political transition in the country.
