The Syrian Opposition Coalition’s (SOC) held a virtual meeting with Syrian intellectuals and artists and discussed with them the major challenges and obstacles facing the Syrian revolution and the major issues that the SOC is currently working on, especially the issue of reform.
The meeting brought together SOC’s President Nasr Al-Hariri, Vice-Presidents Oqab Yahya and Abdel Hakim Bashar, member of the political committee Abdel Majid Barakat, and member of the General Assembly, Zakariya Malahifji.
Al-Hariri gave an overview on the SOC’s plan of action for the period to come which focuses on developing the SOC’s performance so as to improve the reality of the Syrian people.
He also talked about developments in the political process, the work of the Constitutional Committee, and Russia’s attempts to circumvent the political process by seeking to hold a conference on the return of refugees.
Al-Hariri stressed the important role of Syrian intellectuals in shoring up the revolution and upholding its goals, and continuing to work to achieve the aspirations of the Syrian people for freedom and dignity.
Participants put forward many proposals and ideas to improve the Syrian people’s reality and alleviate their suffering as they agreed on the need for continued cooperation and coordination to face the upcoming challenges. (Source: SOC’s Media Department)
