Coordinator of the Syrian Opposition Coalition’s (SOC) office in liberated areas, Najib Rahmoun, participated in the final conference of the “Empowering the Community to Prepare to Respond to Disasters” project, hosted at Free Aleppo University in Azaz, Aleppo countryside.
The project was executed by the Supreme Council for Disaster and Emergency Management in collaboration with the Midar Organization, Idea2020 Foundation, Qiyam Foundation, Engineers, and Contractors Syndicates. It aimed to enhance disaster response capabilities in liberated regions.
Rahmoun emphasized the project’s significance in enabling swift responses to disasters, emphasizing the need for efficient mechanisms capable of rapid intervention. He stressed the importance of collaboration among relevant institutions and the expansion of social networks to establish agile decision-making processes in critical times.
The Supreme Council for Disaster and Emergency Management initiated this community empowerment project as part of its broader strategy to manage and develop disaster response strategies in the liberated areas.
