A delegation from the Syrian Opposition Coalition, headed by President Salem Al-Meslet, met with officials in the French Foreign Ministry and discussed with them the latest developments in the political process and the implementation of UN resolutions, especially Resolution 2254, which would lead to a political transition in the country.
Al-Meslet spoke about the political track and the need to push this file forward, in addition to the refugee and detainees issues, the field conditions, and support for projects in the liberated areas.
Al-Meslet stressed the need to restore interest in the Syrian file once again and for the Syrian file to remain on the negotiating table.
He added that the SOC’s delegation discussed with the French side the recent developments and meetings, reaffirming the SOC’s firm position on the need to bring about a comprehensive political transition in Syria in accordance with UN resolutions that ensure ridding Syria of the criminal Assad regime.
The SOC called on the French side to actively coordinate between the friends of the Syrian people to solve the outstanding issues, and push towards resolving the problems that the Syrian people are suffering from.
