President of the Syrian Opposition Coalition (SOC), Salem al-Meslet, and member of the political committee, Badr Jamous, visited the local council in the town of Jarablus in rural Aleppo and met with local notables as well as representatives of civil, military, and services institutions.
The two sides discussed ways to improve the living conditions and basic services in the town.
Al-Meslet stressed that the SOC is seeking to improve the conditions in the liberated areas and enable the Syrian Interim Government to build its institutions and administer the region in a way that represents the Syrian people’s aspirations for seeing an end to tyranny.
Al-Meslet also talked about the reform process which was approved by the General Assembly. He stressed that the SOC is seeking to ensure real representation of all components within the General Assembly in order to inject new blood and revitalize work in a way that meets the Syrian people’s aspirations for freedom and dignity.
For their part, the locals inquired about the latest developments in the political process and the impact of the Ukrainian crisis on Syria.
They stressed the importance of teamwork and intensifying consultations to ensure adequate representation of the revolutionary components, entities and activities within the SOC.
