The Syrian Opposition Coalition’s Committee of Political Parties held a virtual meeting with the Syrian Republican Party and discussed with them the latest developments in Syria.
The meeting brought together Coordinator of the Committee, Abdullah Kaddo, members Muhammad Yahya Maktabi and Ahmed Ramadan, as well as members of the Party Basil Ezz El-Din, Salah Suleiman, and Malik Al-Hafiz.
SOC’s President Nasr Al-Hariri participated in the meeting as he talked in brief about the developments in the political process. He reaffirmed the SOC’s commitment to a political solution in accordance with UN resolutions, most importantly the Geneva Communique of 2012 and UN Resolution 2254.
Both sides stressed the need for sustained dialogue among the national political opposition forces and the various components of the Syrian people as well as the representation of their demands within an inclusive Syrian national identity.
They also discussed the political process, especially preparations for the third round of talks by the Constitutional Committee. The SOC stressed it is keen on holding further meetings and raising the level of cooperation with the aim of reaching unified positions in support of the Syrian revolution and the demands of the Syrian people.
