The President of the Syrian Opposition Coalition (SOC), Hadi Al-Bahra, along with members of the political committee and General Assembly, held a meeting with the Chief of the Chechen clan, Anwar Jawish, and the Head of the Mardinli Association, Hamid Hafez in the town of Ras Al-Ayn, located in Syria’s Hasakah province. The purpose of the meeting was to engage with local leaders, listen to the concerns of town residents, and gather their perspectives on addressing these issues and improving conditions within the town.
The SOC’s delegation included members of the political committee, namely Abdel Basset Abdel Latif, Abdulahad Astepho, Muhammad Ali Issa, and SOC member Hussein Al-Raad. They were joined by the Minister of Agriculture in the Syrian interim government, Hayel Al-Kalsh.
The discussions between the two sides primarily revolved around several key topics. First and foremost, they emphasized the importance of ensuring a consistent supply of agricultural resources and tackling the challenges faced by farmers in selling their agricultural produce. Additionally, there was a consensus on the necessity of establishing an agricultural bank in the region to further support the agricultural sector.
The leaders also highlighted the need to develop an integrated mechanism for education, exploring the feasibility of setting up digital platforms for universities to facilitate distance learning for students.
The meeting showcased the collaborative efforts of the SOC and local leaders to address pressing issues and work towards enhancing the overall living conditions and opportunities in the town of Ras Al-Ayn.
