Member of the Syrian Opposition Coalition’s (SOC) political committee Basma Muhammad called on the international community to assume a tough stance towards Russia’s crimes in both Syria and Ukraine.
Muhammad stressed that the Syrian people denounce the Russian crimes against the Ukrainian people, adding that the Syrian people have been subjected to the same atrocities at the hands of Putin’s militias that devasted Syria and displaced millions from their homes.
Muhammad also stressed that the Assad regime does not represent the Syrian people whatsoever, and that the militants he is sending to fight alongside the Russian forces in Ukraine are paid mercenaries and criminals.
She added that the Syrian people have suffered the bitterness of displacement and know very well the meaning of war, adding that Syrians do not wish for any people in the world to go through this experience.
