President of the Syrian Opposition Coalition (SOC), Salem al-Meslet, along with SOC’s members, and commanders of the Syrian National Army, participated in a large celebration on the occasion of Nowruz Day. The ceremony was held by the Association of Independent Syrian Kurds in Rajo district in Afrin region in rural Aleppo.
Participants included SOC’s members Badr Jamous, Abdulelah Al-Fahd, Muhammad Qaddah, Bahjat Al-Atassi and Ahmed Al-Shehadi.
The ceremony saw the participation of many people of Afrin as the celebrants waved the flags of the Syrian Revolution along with the symbols of Nowruz as an expression of adherence to the values of freedom and dignity.
Al-Meslet stressed that the Syrian peoples’ struggle has always carried the meanings of Nowruz in liberation from injustice as well as spreading freedom and peace.
He stressed that the month of March carries many special occasions and festivities for Syrians from all backgrounds, expressing his wishes that Nowruz will bring joy and happiness to all Syrians.
Member of the SOC’s political committee, Badr Jamous, and Head of the Association of the Independent Syrian Kurds, Abdul Aziz Tammo, distributed gifts to children in Afrin on the occasion of Nowruz.
