The political committee of the Syrian Opposition Coalition (SOC) held its regular meeting on Thursday to discuss the latest ground and political developments in Syria, as well as the situation of Syrian refugees in Türkiye, Lebanon, and other host countries. The committee also listened to reports from the SOC’s offices, departments, and working groups.
SOC Vice President Abdel Majeed Barakat provided an overview of the presidential body’s work and its communications regarding issues facing Syrian refugees and efforts to follow up on their legal status.
The committee reviewed recent developments in the liberated areas, particularly the ongoing violations by the Assad regime, which continues to bomb these areas with armed suicide drones. They also discussed the Syrian National Army’s response to the SDF militia’s attempts to launch stealth attacks in the liberated areas.
Additionally, the committee examined international statements related to Syria. It explored ways to address the latest developments to avoid harm and achieve progress in a manner that supports the political process.
