The Syrian Opposition Coalition (SOC) expressed its full support for the ongoing popular uprising in As-Suwayda against the militia affiliated with the Assad regime’s security apparatus. It called on local and international media to monitor and report on the uprising, which reflects a popular desire for regaining freedom and salvation from this murderous regime and its affiliated militias.
In a press release issued on Thursday, the SOC said that the Assad regime is using criminals and murderers to command terrorist militias that harass civilians and fight them with killing and detention. It stressed that “our proud people in as-Suwayda did not succumb to this situation as they rose up against the criminal Raji Falhout and his thuggish militia, which is affiliated with the Assad regime.”
“The photos and videos that show equipment and materials for the manufacture of illicit drugs at Falhout’s headquarters provide yet another clear evidence that this regime is responsible for transforming the areas under its control into a hotbed of drugs. The Assad regime is manufacturing narcotics and smuggling them to neighboring countries and beyond in order to finance its militias and its war against the Syrian people,” the SOC added.
The SOC also said that “the Syrian people will continue to resist this regime no matter how it has killed, displaced or arrested. What is happening in Dara’a, As-Suwayda, Idlib and northern Aleppo clearly indicates the insistence of the Syrian people to continue their revolution until its goals are achieved.
The latest developments also refute the allegations of the regime and its allies about achieving victory, and confirm that the Syrian people will remain steadfast until they regain their freedom and dignity and overthrow the murderous Assad regime.”
