President of the Syrian Opposition Coalition (SOC), Nasr Al-Hariri, sent a letter to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Kuwait, Ahmed Nasser Al-Muhammad Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah to emphasize Kuwait’s important role in the political process in Syria and the need for the Arab League to work to find a political solution in the country.
Al-Hariri thanked the State of Kuwait for its continued to support for the cause of the Syrian people and their legitimate aspirations.
Al-Hariri expressed his appreciation for Kuwait’s important role in Arab and international forums, its continued support for the Syrian people at the humanitarian and political levels, and its efforts to find an inclusive political solution in Syria in a way that meets the demands of the Syrian people; bring the Syrian tragedy to an end; and restores stability to the entire region.
Moreover, Al-Hariri stressed the importance of intensifying work and activating efforts to put an end to the suffering of the Syrian people in view of the dire economic and living conditions.
Moreover, Al-Hariri expressed his appreciation for the important role of Arab countries through the initiative to protect civilians; condemn the Assad regime’s crimes, and severe diplomatic relations with the regime.
He called upon the State of Kuwait to contribute to the efforts to reach a political solution in line with the Geneva Communique of 2012 and UN resolutions, especially UN resolutions 2254 and 2118 in a way that prevents the rehabilitation of the Assad regime; protects Syria And its people; and meets the legitimate aspirations of the Syrian people.
Al-Hariri reaffirmed the SOC’s keenness to strengthen relations with Kuwait, stressing that the SOC stands ready to contribute to international and Arab efforts aimed at pushing the political process forward and to take decisions that serve the cause of the Syrian people as well as Arab and regional issues.
