Salem Al-Meslet, the President of the Syrian Opposition Coalition (SOC), has sent a congratulatory letter to Gabriel Moshe Kourieh, Head of the Assyrian Democratic Organization, to acknowledge the successful conclusion of their 14th General Conference at their headquarters in Qamishli.
Al-Meslet emphasized the SOC’s strong commitment to developing relationships, cooperation, and coordination with all of its components, including the Assyrian Democratic Organization. He underlined the importance of supporting the Syriac-Assyrian component as an original and essential part of Syrian society.
Moreover, Al-Meslet stressed the need for a robust relationship between the SOC and the Assyrian Democratic Organization. The two organizations must enhance their understanding and work together towards taking constructive, unified positions on the future of Syria. Al-Meslet called on all Syrians to stand together to achieve the goals of the revolution for freedom and dignity, preserve the rights of all Syrians, and ensure salvation from injustice and persecution.
Al-Meslet expressed hope that the conference would be a significant step towards advancing the interests of the Syrian people with all their components.
He saw it as an opportunity to strengthen determination and cooperation towards a unified vision that focuses on achieving the goals and aspirations of the people for freedom, dignity, and the building of a pluralistic, democratic, civil state. This state must uphold the principle of equal citizenship and preserve the unity of the Syrian people, its lands, and the rights of all Syrians, regardless of their nationalities, religions, and sects.
