President of the Syrian Opposition Coalition (SOC) Nasr Al-Hariri, met with leaders and representatives of the National Action Movement for Syria and discussed with them the importance of the Syrian opposition’s unity, the role of the SOC’s components in enhancing the opposition’s work and communication with the Syrian people, and developing its relations with the regional and international actors.
The meeting came as part of the SOC’s efforts to strengthen communication, cooperation and coordination with all components, bodies and figures comprising the SOC’s General Assembly.
The meeting brought together leader of the Movement Ahmed Ramadan, his deputy Muhammad Akkad, Director of the Office of National Relations, Muhammad Yaseen Najjar, member of the Executive Office, Mahmoud Othman, the Movement’s representative in the SOC, Zakaria Malahifji, and members of the central committee, the political bureau, the youth and students’ bureau, and office of national relations.
The Movement reaffirmed its support for efforts to reform the SOC and improve its work in the liberated areas and provide it with competent, young staff. It pointed out that the revolution is today going through a critical juncture and facing major changes at the national, regional and international levels, which requires cooperation and unity.
Participants in the meeting stressed the need for cooperation in order to deal with the major developments and overcome the challenges facing the Syrian revolution. They also stressed the need for strengthening cooperation with all Syrian components, preparing national expertise, and ensuring their active participation in all issues that serve the demands of the Syrian people.
They also discussed the latest political and on the ground developments, especially the SOC and SIG’s efforts to stem the spread of coronavirus, the PYD militias’ arbitrary decisions related to the dispossession of the displaced people, and the international campaign the SOC launched to strengthen relations with the Arab, regional, and international actors.
