President of the Syrian Opposition Coalition (SOC), Hadi Al-Bahra, and his accompanying delegation met with the head of the local council in the town of Afrin, Muhammad Sheikh Rashid, along with several council members.
Al-Bahra was accompanied by Vice President Abdel Majeed Barakat, members of the political committee Jihad Marae and Bahjat Atassi, and the coordinator of the SOC office in the liberated areas, Najib Rahmoun.
Sheikh Rashid provided an overview of the region’s current situation, while Al-Bahra and his delegation were briefed on the council’s work, the services it offers to citizens, future plans and projects, as well as the challenges hindering its service development efforts.
Sheikh Rashid highlighted significant projects completed recently, focusing on infrastructure improvements such as road paving and ensuring adequate water supply.
Hadi Al-Bahra expressed gratitude to the Afrin local council for their efforts in delivering services to citizens and emphasized the importance of continuous improvement in service provision, setting a positive example for others.
Al-Bahra stressed the necessity of cooperation and coordination to collectively address the challenges imposed by current circumstances, noting that this approach is vital for effecting positive change in the Syrian landscape and advancing the situation in northern Syria.
