The Syrian Opposition Coalition (SOC) received a delegation from the Association of Independent Syrian Kurds at the SOC’s office in the town of Azaz in rural Aleppo.
The meeting brought together SOC’s President Nasr Al-Hariri, Vice President Ruba Habboush, members of the political committee Salem Al-Meslet, Yasser Al-Farhan, and Abdel-Majid Al-Barakat, and representatives of the Syrian National Army.
The Association’s delegation comprised Muhammad Ali Issa, Azad Othman, Riad Ibish, Abdel Manan Habib, Hekmat Muhammad, Ibrahim Mustafa, Adham Salman, and Mahmoud Sheikh Sidi.
Al-Hariri gave an overview on the national discourse that the SOC has outlined recently as he stressed the strength and importance of the relationship between the SOC and the Association. He said that this relationship is part of the national project aimed at overthrowing the regime and building a state that is based on respect for freedoms and equal citizenship.
Al-Hariri stressed that the SOC is seeking to develop and strengthen this relationship through more meetings and joint activities, pointing to the need to strengthen the common Syrian identity and to hold more workshops in this regard.
Moreover, Al-Hariri commended the Association’s stances and the role it is playing through the Civil Peace Office which is tasked with resolving the problems facing the people of Afrin.
For their part, the Association members welcomed the meeting as they stressed that it would be a prelude to holding more meetings and activities in the liberated areas.
The Association’s members talked about the Association’s work in Afrin through the Civil Peace Office and its role in exposing the crimes of the PYD militia, and assisting residents of Afrin who were victims of PKK terror.
