The Syrian Opposition Coalition (SOC) said that the whole world has watched live on TV screens the victims of the numerous chemical attacks that the Assad regime carried out against the Syrian people, slamming the international community’s continued failure to assume its responsibilities.
In a press release issued to mark the Day of Remembrance for all Victims of Chemical Warfare, the SOC called attention to the scene surrounding the ongoing crimes against the Syrian people, the Assad regime’s continued atrocious crimes, and how Russia and Iran joined it in the war against the Syrian people.
“Despite the utter international inaction to the worst chemical attacks in the current century – with the ensuing consequences and scandals that must place the international community and those who drew red lines in front of their responsibility – the Syrian Opposition Coalition commits to its responsibilities with regard to reminding all parties of their responsibilities regarding the ongoing crimes in Syria.”
The SOC stressed that the importance of international events must not be limited to their role in educating the people about the major world issues, but must remind the international community of its responsibilities with regard to these issues.
“As we mark this day, abject failure appears to stain the forehead of the international community, the UN Security Council, and major international parties in light of the failure to implement international law and UN resolutions, continued impunity, and opening the door to a world in which the most horrific crimes are committed without the criminals facing the consequences of their actions.” (Source: SOC’s Media Department)
