The Syrian Opposition Coalition (SOC) stressed that the Russian-led murderous alliance in Syria insist on terrorizing civilians and destabilizing the liberated areas as they continue aerial bombardment on Idlib province, which is home to more than a million displaced people.
Russian jets on Tuesday bombed an area crowded with displaced people near the village of Kalbit in northern rural Idlib close to the Turkish border, resulting in civilian casualties.
In a press release issued on Tuesday, the SOC said that “the renewed Russian bombardment on the liberated areas only three days before the seventh anniversary of its military aggression against Syria demonstrates how Russia persists with its brutal tactics towards civilians. These tactics, comprising mainly bombardment, killings and destructions of vital infrastructure, aim to disrupt civilian life in the liberated areas. They are the same tactics being used by the Assad regime.”
“The continued Russian crimes against Syrian civilians are a proof that Russia’s claims about supporting a political solution in Syria are false and no more than pure lies . From the first day of its intervention in Syria, Russia has been launching brutal bombings and providing support for the Assad regime’s military operations, and seeking a military solution.”
The SOC also said that Russia’s hostile acts in both Syria and Ukraine require the international community to isolate Russia and its ally the Assad regime from all international forums, especially from the United Nations and international organizations. They also require serious, urgent action to put an end to Russia’s arrogance and its ongoing crimes.”
