Coordinator of the Syrian Opposition Coalition’s (SOC) Office of Syrian Communities, Muhammad Yahya Maktabi, communicated with councils of the Syrian communities around the world to ascertain their conditions amid the coronavirus crisis.
Maktabi listened to an explanation of the challenges facing the Syrian communities in the host countries in light of the various preventive measures being taken by the host countries, especially their negative economic impact on the various segments of society, including the Syrian refugees.
Maktabi called for solidarity during these difficult circumstances, especially among the Syrian refugees. He underscored the importance of developing a plan to help the most affected and vulnerable groups as well as volunteering to deliver medical and food aid to the elderly.
Moreover, Maktabi called on the Syrian people to contribute to the efforts to confront this pandemic in coordination with civil society organizations and in accordance with the procedures in place.
He stressed the importance of showing awareness as he urged the Syrian communities to abide by the preventive measures and decisions being issued by the relevant authorities in the host countries. (Source: SOC’s Media Department)
