President of the Syrian Opposition Coalition, Nasr al-Hariri, sent a letter to Head of Division European Union External Action Service/MENA, Erika Ferrer, requesting scholarships for Syrian students at European universities.
Al-Hariri highlighted the difficulties and obstacles to Syrian students enrolling in universities, most notably the high tuition fees and the lack of scholarships offered to students. He stressed the need to support Syrian students and provide them with scholarships that enable them to continue their study and to contribute to building a prosperous future for their homeland.
Al-Hariri expressed the hope that “Syrian students everywhere will be a source of pride and their impressive achievements will prove to the whole world that the Syrian people are hard-working, resilient, and deserve a better life than the one they live under the rule of the Assad regime.”
He expressed his gratitude to the European Union countries for hosting Syrian refugees and for their constant assistance to the SOC and the Syrian people in its struggle to regain dignity and freedom. (Source: SOC’s Media Department)
