The Syrian Opposition Coalition (SOC) said that the Syrian people are being subjected to a terrorist campaign of deadly terrorist car bomb attacks targeting towns and villages in northern rural Aleppo. It urged the revolutionary forces, their institutions and army to take the necessary precautions and raise the level of coordination.
In a press release issued on Sunday, the SOC said that this criminal campaign is not only killing women and children as well as destroying residential neighborhoods, but also aims to spread chaos, undermine stability, and terrorize our people and prevent their return. They also aim to supplement the Assad regime’s obstruction of efforts to reach a political solution.
The SOC stressed that the Assad regime and its allied Iranian militias and their terrorist tools, including the PYD militia, stand behind these heinous crimes, which will not go unpunished.
“The Assad regime is avidly seeking to circumvent all existing agreements, going all the way to implement its attacks by terrorist means in parallel with bombardment and attempts to advance on the ground as well as the various violations against the Syrian people.”
The SOC added: “The continuing bombings claiming the lives of women, children and youth in the targeted residential neighborhoods; leaving dozens more injured; and causing massive devastation threatens a disaster and a new explosion of the situation.”
The SOC reiterated its calls on the international community to assume its responsibilities with regards to these developments, and to work towards building real international cooperation to confront terrorism that targets the Syrian people with explosions, car bombs and airplanes.
“The specialized institutions of the Syrian Interim Government and the Syrian National Army continue to investigate these bombings and track down terrorist organizations. We look forward to increased international support in this context.”
“The Assad regime and the terrorist organizations work in absolute harmony. The language of terrorism is the alternative that they want to impose on the Syrian people after the Assad regime disrupted the political solution, which places greater responsibility on the international community.” (Source: SOC’s Media Department)
