President of the Syrian Opposition Coalition (SOC), Salem Al-Meslet, commended the Lebanese Progressive Socialist Party and its leader, Walid Jumblatt, for taking a strong stance against the racist campaign targeting Syrian refugees in Lebanon. Al-Meslet emphasized that such campaigns not only harm Syrian refugees but also tarnish the image of Lebanon in the region.
Al-Meslet praised Lebanon as a pioneer in promoting freedom and democracy, but warned that terrorist militias affiliated with the Assad regime are determined to destroy that image. He was responding to the criticism made by the Lebanese Progressive Socialist Party against the continuing racist campaign, which they said could lead to serious social consequences.
The Party called for an end to this discourse, emphasizing the need to address the issue of Syrian refugees from a humanitarian perspective. They also urged the Lebanese government to organize the issue of international aid allocated to refugees and the host community.
