The Syrian Opposition Coalition (SOC) Women’s Office held its periodic meeting to discuss the Office’s activity and plan of action for the months to come and assess its performance in recent months.
Participants also discussed ways to develop the Office’s work and new mechanisms to reach out to all actors and organizations operating in the liberated areas.
The meeting, which was chaired by the SOC’s Vice-president and Head of the Women’s Office, Ruba Habboush, brought together Samar Al-Hussein, Fayza Hamdu, Rana Agha and Rujin Ibrahim as well as director of the Women’s Office in the liberated areas and SOC member, Najib Rahmoun.
Habboush said that the office was carrying out a thorough assessment of its work as she pointed to the need to activate and expand its activities.
She put forward proposals for holding workshops and holding activities in the upcoming period, including on issues such as women’s constitutional rights in the constitution of future Syria, representation of women, work of women in government sectors, the role of women in local administration.
Participants discussed the Office’s plan of action in the current month as she stressed the need to step up efforts and reach out to all organizations active in Idlib province. (Source: SOC’s Media Department)
