The Syrian Opposition Coalition’s (SOC) Women’s Office, under the supervision of the SOC’s Vice-president and Coordinator of the Office, Ruba Habboush, met with a delegation of students from Al-Nahda and Free Aleppo universities in the liberated areas.
The two sides discussed the major activities of the Women’s Office in the town of Azaz in rural Aleppo, especially the seminars, workshops and regular meetings. The delegation commended the SOC’s decision to open the two offices, as they stressed that they stand ready to support their work.
They also discussed the situation of universities in the liberated areas, stressing the need to support universities and secure their educational needs as well as holding training courses for students, providing political references, and holding workshops on Syria’s political history.
Moreover, they pointed to the need to create an environment that is supportive of women’s political and social rights and support women’s rights, especially the right to participation in all aspects of life.
They also agreed to hold more meetings in order to organize joint activities and coordinate efforts to hold joint workshops. (Source: SOC’s Media Department)
