The Women’s Office in the Syrian Opposition Coalition, in cooperation with the Syrian Republican Party, has concluded the first level of a course on information security, protection of digital data, security of personal accounts, and preserving privacy online.
SOC’s Vice-president Ruba Habboush stressed the importance of information security for all women working in the field of information and the internet, especially in light of the surge of electronic armies tasked with intrigue and espionage. She also said that the course provides guidance for the safe use of the internet in general.
Haboush added that the announcement of the course was made by the SOC’s Women’s Office following an agreement with the Training and Activities Office in the Syrian Republican Party. She added that the Office will seek to provide qualitative training and qualification courses for women in northwestern Syria in cooperation with institutions and trainers with the aim of boosting professional, informational, political and educational qualifications in the liberated areas.
The first level of the training course began in early October and ended in early December 2020. Thirty five trainees took the course at a rate of two lessons per week.
Habboush indicated that the first level was carried out with distinguished interaction, adding that 12 trainees made their way to the second level. She pointed out that proof of attendance will be presented to the trainees. (Source: SOC’s Media Department)
