Head of the Syrian Opposition Coalition’s (SOC) Office in Ankara, Ahmed Bakkoura, met with Head of Corporate Relations and Communication Department at the Turkish Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB) Mr. Ahmet Atabas to discuss mechanism for selecting Syrian students and providing them with facilitations in the scholarships offered to foreign students by the SPARK Foundation.
The two sides agreed to offer special facilitations to Syrian students in the host countries in order to obtain the Turkish scholarship, especially students earning top grades, orphaned students, residents of IDP camps, the poor, and survivors from the Assad regime’s prisons in accordance with the Turkish academic standards.
The two sides also discussed the necessity of instructing Syrian students to enroll in the study of the humanities. They also discussed the possibility of cooperation in developing the skills of Syrian students through specialized courses. They also agreed on the need for establishing joint specialized courses to develop the skills of Syrian students and improving communication between the two sides in order to develop the services provided to Syrian students.
