Abdulbasit Abdullatif, the Coordinator of the Al-Jazira and Euphrates Committee at the Syrian Opposition Coalition (SOC), presented a comprehensive work report during the 68th session of the General Assembly. In his report, he discussed the committee’s activities over the past two months, focusing on their visits to liberated areas east of the Euphrates. During these visits, they engaged with the local population to assess the situation, particularly in the aftermath of the aggression carried out by the PYD terrorist militia against the region.
Abdullatif highlighted the committee’s visits to local councils in the towns of Tal Abyad and Ras al-Ayn, where they discussed living conditions, means of livelihood, and the absence of relief and development organizations in the area.
Furthermore, Abdullatif emphasized the importance of promoting agricultural products in the region to enhance economic conditions and facilitate the granting of agricultural loans.
He also underscored the East Euphrates region’s determination, as expressed by its people and local leaders, to govern their own territories, expel the PYD militia, and reject their influence in the region.
