The Syrian Opposition Coalition’s (SOC) Committee of Political Parties submitted a report detailing its work and activities to the General Assembly in its 52nd meeting. The report highlighted the results of the meetings the Committee has recently held with Syrian political parties and blocs to strengthen communication and coordination.
Coordinator of the Committee, Abdullah Kaddo, said that the Committee held many meetings with Syrian political parties and blocs and discussed with them the SOC’s plan of action and its political vision that it is preparing to outline in the coming days. They also discussed developments in the political process, the work of the Constitutional Committee, and the Assad regime’s continued refusal to seriously engage in any political process that may lead to a political solution in accordance with UN resolution 2254.
Kaddo pointed out that the Committee is working to frame the work and blocs of the Syrian opposition as well as develop its role in Syria and abroad so as to support the Syrian revolution and achieve the Syrian people’s aspirations for freedom, dignity, and democracy.
Kaddo stressed the important role of the Syrian political parties and blocs and the importance of communicating with the various segments of society, reaching out to writers and intellectuals, confronting extremist ideologies, and raising the level of political awareness among the Syrian people.
