Muhammad Yahya Maktabi, the Coordinator of the Syrian Opposition Coalition’s (SOC) Office of Syrian Communities Abroad, delivered a comprehensive work report during the 67th regular session of the General Assembly. The report outlined the office’s activities over the past two months.
Maktabi discussed the key issues raised during the meeting with the leaders of the Syrian-American organizations, emphasizing the importance of unifying international meetings and strengthening ties with Syrian communities in the diaspora and the liberated areas in Syria.
The report also touched on the productive meetings between the office and the president of the Syrian Negotiations Commission, alongside leaders of Syrian-American organizations. Maktabi stressed the significance of conducting a joint workshop involving the Commission, the office, and Syrian-American organizations to develop a cohesive action plan for the upcoming stage.
Regarding the situation in the east of the Euphrates River, the report highlighted a recent meeting between the office and Syrian-American organization leaders. During this gathering, both sides underscored the influential role of the eastern region in the Syrian revolution since its inception, and the active involvement of its diverse components in the fight against the Assad regime.
