A delegation from the Syrian Opposition Coalition (SOC) recently convened with representatives of the Association of Independent Syrian Kurds at the Association’s office in the town of Afrin. The meeting focused on current political developments in Syria and the actions carried out by the Assad regime, its allies, and the PYD terrorist militia against the Syrian people.
The SOC’s delegation included members of the political committee, Bahjat al-Atassi and Muhammad Qaddah, along with SOC members Asaad Allito and Muhammad Mikhlif. They were warmly received by the director of the Association’s office and SOC’s representative, Azad Othman, in addition to local dignitaries and leaders.
During the meeting, the SOC’s delegation commended the pivotal role played by the Association, particularly in the liberated regions, and specifically in Afrin. The Association’s efforts have been instrumental in assisting the people of Afrin to return to their villages and homes, freeing them from the grasp of the PYD terrorist militia. This group has detained numerous Afrin residents in deplorable conditions in the Al-Shahba camps and exploited them for its nefarious agenda.
Azad Othman, the director of the Association’s office, emphasized the necessity of strengthening communication and coordination between all institutions and civil bodies in the liberated regions and the SOC, along with its affiliated institutions. He also highlighted the importance of enhancing the SOC’s media capabilities to effectively document the crimes of the Assad regime, especially the indiscriminate bombing operations in the liberated areas.
Othman further underlined the significance of intensifying and unifying efforts to serve the Syrian people of all backgrounds in the liberated areas. It is crucial to put an end to law violations and property assaults perpetrated by certain individuals and ensure that these cases are referred to the appropriate legal authorities.
