A delegation from the Syrian Opposition Coalition (SOC), headed by President Salem Al-Meslet, will travel to the Belgian capital, Brussels, to participate in the sixth Brussels Conference on ‘supporting the future of Syria and the region’ on 9-10 May.
The delegation comprises the SOC’s Vice-president for Foreign Affairs Abdulahad Astepho, Vice-president Ruba Habboush, members of the political committee Yahya Maktabi and Abdullah Kaddo, and Executive Director of the Assistance Coordination Unit Muhammad Hasno.
The delegation will meet with representatives of sisterly and friendly countries to discuss the major issues of accountability, detainees, political transition, and support for the internally displaced people and refugees.
Al-Meslet stressed the importance of countries shouldering their responsibilities with regards to the Syrian people; supporting their demands for freedom, dignity and living in peace; rethinking their strategies; and providing sufficient support to the Syrian people to confront the Assad regime and its Russia and Iran backers.
