A delegation from the Syrian Opposition Coalition, headed by Secretary-General Abdul Basit Abdul Latif, toured the liberated areas in Raqqa province where they met with officials, officers, and national figures.
The delegation comprised members of the political committee Yasser Al-Farhan, Bahjat Al-Atassi, Muhammad Yahya Maktabi, Salem Al-Meslet, and members of the General Assembly Ahmed Tomeh, Amer Al-Bashir, and Rami Al-Dosh.
The delegation visited Tal Abyad border crossing, the local council in the town, the Syrian Tribal Council, and the headquarters of the Third Division of the Syrian National Army.
The delegation ascertained the progress of work in service institutions in the region, listened to the most pressing needs of the local population and the citizens’ complaints about essential services, and promised to work with the Syrian Interim Government to solve the existing problems and improve services in general.
Abdel-Latif talked about the course of the political process, especially the Constitutional Committee which concluded its third round of talks in Geneva on Saturday.
Abdel-Latif pointed out that improving the living conditions of the Syrian people comes at the top of the SOC’s list of priorities. He said that the SOC is working with the Syrian Interim Government to empower its institutions and develop their work to provide services to all citizens.
The delegation praised the work being done by the Syrian National Army, the police and national security forces to maintain security; improve stability; and ensure the return of all displaced people to their places of origin. (Source: SOC’s Media Department)
