A delegation from the Syrian Opposition Coalition (SOC), headed by, Salem Al-Meslet, toured the town of Tal Abyad in rural al-Raqqa east of the Euphrates River where they met local notables and discussed with them the security and living conditions as well as listened to their needs and requests.
The delegation comprised SOC’s secretary of the political committee Abdul Majeed Barakat, SOC’s members Abdul Basit Abdul Latif, Muhammad Wali, Muhammad Ali Issa, Yasser Al-Farhan, Hussein Al-Abdullah, Abdullah Muhammad Al-Faraj, Ibrahim Sardar Al-Malli, Hamida Al-Tahri, Vice President The Association of Independent Syrian Kurds Radif Mustafa, and Deputy Minister of Local Administration Saad Shweish.
The delegation gave an overview on the latest political and field developments in Syria. Al-Meslet briefed the attendees on the SOC’s work and the results of meetings with envoys of sisterly and friendly countries.
Al-Meslet pointed out that the SOC attaches great importance to the east of the Euphrates region, adding that the work of the Al-Jazira and Euphrates Committee has been reactivated in order to follow the affairs of the people and rid them of terrorist militias, restore stability, and enable the local people to manage their region by themselves.
Al-Meslet stressed the importance of strengthening cooperation and coordination in order to improve the living conditions and basic services in the region, as well as to support the stability and resilience of the people.
