A delegation from the Syrian Opposition Coalition (SOC), headed by President Salem Al-Meslet, visited the leadership of the Third Corps of the Syrian National Army in the town of Tal Abyad in rural Raqqa.
The delegation comprised Secretary of the SOC’s political committee Abdul Majeed Barakat, SCO’s members Abdul Basit Abdul Latif, Muhammad Wali, Muhammad Ali Issa, Yasser Al-Farhan, Hussein Al-Abdullah, Abdullah Muhammad Al-Faraj, Ibrahim Sardar Al-Malli, Hamida Al-Tahri, Vice President of the Association of Independent Syrian Kurds, Radif Mustafa, and Deputy Minister of Local Administration Saad Shweish.
Al-Meslet gave an overview on the developments in the political process and international developments, especially the Russian invasion of Ukraine, pointing out that there is an opportunity to change the equation in Syria if there is an international will to confront the Russian ambitions.
Al-Meslet commended the role of the Syrian National Army and its efforts in protecting the area from terrorist attacks, which reflected positively on security, stability, and the resilience of the local population, enabling them to administer their areas by themselves.
Al-Meslet talked about the work of the Al-Jazira and Euphrates Committee and its keenness on improving the living conditions in the region, communicating and cooperating with local institutions, enabling the local population to administer their areas by themselves, and exposing the crimes being committed by the PYD terrorist militia against civilians.
For their part, commanders of the Third Corps talked about the work of the Syrian National Army and its cooperation with all other institutions in order to maintain security, restore stability to the region, and create the appropriate conditions for the return of the people to their homes.
They stressed the need to take advantage of the current international situation so as to help fulfil the demands of the Syrian revolution.
