The Syrian Opposition Coalition’s (SOC) General Assembly concluded its 63rd regular meeting in which it decided to extend the tenure of the current presidential body and political committee which is defined in Article 20 of the SOC’s by-law for a period of 12 months. The Assembly also reviewed reports on the work of the presidential body, political committee, the General Secretariat, the SOC’s departments, offices, committees, the Syrian Interim Government and local councils.
The Assembly discussed the latest field and political developments, and listened to the challenges facing the work of local councils and executive institutions in the liberated areas.
The Assembly also discussed the Assad regime and the PYD terrorist militias’ continued hostile actions against civilians in the liberated areas, stressing that their terrorist acts are seeking to destabilize these areas.
The Assembly also reviewed the latest political developments and their impact on Syria, in addition to the Assad regime’s insistence on obstructing the political process, its submission to Russia, and the suspension of the work of the Constitutional Committee.
