Coordinator of the Syrian Opposition Coalition’s (SOC) Office in rural Aleppo, Ahmed Al-Shehadi, received a delegation from the Union of Journalists of Aleppo and discussed with them the major issues related to media work in the liberated areas and the role of women in this field.
The delegation comprised Head of the Association, Ismail Al-Raj, Head of the legal office, Mustafa Abdullah, Head of the women’s office, Heba Barakat, and Director of Thiqa news outlet Darwish Saleh.
Al-Shahadi gave an overview on the SOC’s plan of action as he emphasized the important role of the associations of media outlets in the Syrian revolution, especially with regard to exposing the Assad regime’s crimes against civilians and supporting the demands of the Syrian people.
Both sides agreed on the importance of coordination of efforts in the coming period, especially in view of the big challenges facing the Syrian revolution. They emphasized the role of female journalists and the need to support their work in the liberated areas. (Source: SOC’s Media Department)
